Great schools depend on great teachers therefore we are highly committed to improving our support for teachers, ensuring that they receive high quality training and development at every stage of their career – from Initial Teacher Training (ITT) through to leadership qualifications.
We celebrate the fact that all children are unique and we have high aspirations for their futures. We are committed to high-quality professional development and training that impacts on the learning experiences of every child’s education.
The growth and positive impact of L.E.A.D. Equate continues following a recent announcement of its successful bid to lead a ground breaking DfE initiative for teacher training and development across Lincolnshire in September 2021. Working in partnership with providers, the hub will deliver high quality professional development to teachers at all stages of their career.
This further extends the pioneering work of L.E.A.D. Equate and its current relationship with vital initiatives at the Department for Education. The multi-region organisation is already a DfE English Hub (delivering in-depth training throughout Lincolnshire to improve the standards of phonics and reading) and a DfE accredited provider of ‘relationships, sex and health education’ (RSHE) across the East Midlands.
The Teaching School Hub programme will create a national network of 87 centres of excellence, replacing the previous 750 teaching schools. Applicants were invited to apply based on a consistent demonstration of exceptionally high educational standards. Following this rigorous process, the submission for Witham St. Hughs Academy (a L.E.A.D. Academy Trust school) to be the designated location of the hub was accepted.
From September 2021, the Teaching School Hub will collaborate with existing and new partners to provide; initial teacher training, early career teaching, specialist national professional and leadership qualifications and a wide range of high-quality evidence-based professional development for school leaders and teachers.
